Info:
Tokyo:
2008 will be
our eighth summer to send teams to Japan. Our very first
summer team was sent to work in Japan, and we have had teams
there every summer since then. By this you can see that
Japan is a major point of focus for our ministry. The Japanese
people are the largest single unreached people group on
the planet.
Base
Camp: The first
three days of the trip are spent in training provided by
iWitness called Base Camp. This time is focused on team
building, spiritual preparation, training, etc. This team's
Base Camp location is still being determined. The students
will be taken from Base Camp to the Dallas Ft. Worth airport
for their flight.
Commissioning:
We are encouraging
each church to commission their student. However, we will
also have a time of commissioning at the beginning of Base
Camp. This will coincide with a brief Parent's meeting and
reception as students are dropped off for their trip.
Cost:
The trip cost
is $4100. This cost includes airfare, in-country transportation,
housing, food, Base Camp, insurance, supplies, administrative
fees, etc. The only expenses not covered in the trip cost
will be the student's transportation to Base Camp, transportation
home from the airport, and souvenirs.
JSI
Retreat Weekend: We are hosting a mandatory leaderships
training retreat for all of our JSI's in April . Be sure
to keep these dates open, as this will be a very important
weekend. We will communicate the location and starting time
as we get those details worked out.
