The
Info:
JSI
Team : The goal of this
trip is to build relationships with the people in Great
Britain and share the Gospel with them in the context of
a friendship. Once you have begun to do this, you will be
helping the short term teams that come in and out of the
U. K. to do the same thing. You are responsible for being
their guides: guide teams in navigating the train system,
when and where they can talk to someone without offending
them, how they should pray for an area, etc. You will also
be responsible for leading spiritual discussions.
Base
Camp: Students
are required to come to pre-trip training provided by iWitness
called Base Camp. This time is focused on team building,
spiritual preparation, training, etc. The Base Camp location
has not been finalized yet, but it will take place in the
Dallas area.
Commissioning:
We are encouraging
each church to commission their student. However, we will
also have a time of commissioning at the beginning of Base
Camp. This will coincide with a brief Parent's meeting and
reception as students are dropped off for their trip.
Cost:
The trip cost
is approximately $4500. This cost includes airfare, in-country
transportation, housing, food, Base Camp, insurance, supplies,
administrative fees, etc. The only expenses not covered
in the trip cost will be the student's transportation to
Base Camp, transportation home from the airport, and souvenirs.
Communication:
Our web site
is designed to be the main source of information related
to our ministry. Because we deal with students and in an
effort to save money, a great majority of our communication
will be done through the message board and through email.
If anyone has trouble accessing the internet, please let
us know so we can make sure any pertinent information is
not missed. Please Make sure that we have a valid e-mail
for you. We will continue to communicate all necessary information
as the trip preparation progresses.
JSI Retreat Weekend:
We are hosting a mandatory leaderships training
retreat for all of our JSI's in April . We will communicate
the location and starting time as we get those details worked
out.
