Why You Shouldn't Go

Stories from Students That Had Went

Where are the high school guys?

We are asking that question more and more around iW Headquarters these days. Especially after last summer when we actually sent one team out with twelve girls and only two guys. I guess the good news in that is that God is really using young ladies in this generation to step out and make Him famous all across the planet. The bad news is that so many guys are completely missing out.

The generation that fought in World War II has been called by some the greatest generation ever. There are many reasons for this, but one that jumps out at me is their willingness to actually seek out the most extreme challenges. Thousands of teenage guys refused to wait to be drafted. Instead they went down and signed up. Many of these young guys decided to join the Marines b/c they wanted to be the best, wanted the toughest challenges, and wanted to do the greatest things.

We are praying that God will raise up from the students today a generation of guys that will take on a similar mindset. We need guys who will stop waiting to be drafted into mission work (God already did that) and will just sign up. Afterall, God is ready and able to make you the best, ready to guide you through some tough challenges, and able to use you to do great things.

I know He will continue to use girls and I am excited about that. I just hope that some guys will answer His call. The time to step up is now. As I write these words, only one high school guy has applied for service this summer. Guys, don't sit on the sidelines and miss the great adventure that God has in store for you.
